Why We Love This Product

Gut L-Glutamine is a pure, free-form L-Glutamine powder and it has no other amino acids, ingredients or fillers, making it ideal for absorption and utilization by the cells lining our intestinal tract.

As a registered dietitian, I'm experienced in helping clients meet their health goals with food and supplements. And the one thing I know is that if a product doesn’t taste good or is hard to mix, people stop using it. Which is why I’m so happy that Gut L-Glutamine comes as a very fine powder, that stirs easily in water and has a neutral flavor.

It uses the highest-grade L-Glutamine available and it is manufactured in a world class, NSF-certified facility right here in the USA.

Who It Is For
What does L-Glutamine actually do?
L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and the most important for maintaining the strength and integrity of bodily tissue, including the lining of the intestinal tract. In other words, L-Glutamine is the best fuel source for the cells that form the intestinal lining. Think about it this way...while Popeye ate spinach to grow his muscles, your intestinal wall likes to eat L-Glutamine! †
How does L-Glutamine help?
Studies show that supplemental L-Glutamine is mostly absorbed and metabolized in the tissues of the intestines. That’s great news if you have a leaky gut, which is caused by a weakening of the lining of the intestinal wall.
Gut L-Glutamine supplies the extra glutamine needed to patch up and fortify the thin, single-layered mucosal barrier of the intestines. By strengthening and tightening up the junctions of the cells that line this barrier, L-glutamine prevents food particles, harmful bacteria and toxins from escaping into the bloodstream.
When food particles and bacteria are kept in the intestinal tract where they belong, the body is more likely to maintain normal levels of inflammation, which supports all aspects of your overall wellness. †
How do I know if I should take this supplement?
Gut L-Glutamine may help if you experience any of the following symptoms: gas, occasional bloating, flatulence, GI discomfort, constipation or diarrhea. †
When should I take Gut L-Glutamine?
We recommend taking it first thing in the morning, with or without food. However, for best results, if we had to choose between with or without food, we’d pick without food. That’s because theoretically, you don’t want any other amino acids from the food you eat competing for your intestinal lining’s attention.
And if you want to give even more support to your gut lining? You may also take a second scoop before dinner.
How should I take it?
Mix one scoop of Gut L-Glutamine powder (scoop provided) with 8 fl oz (240 ml) of water, or your favorite beverage. Do not mix Gut L-Glutamine with hot tea or any other hot beverages, as the heat may denature the amino acids.
Also, if possible, avoid taking Gut L-Glutamine with any drinks that contain protein such as protein powder and milk. That’s because theoretically, you don’t want any other amino acids from the food you eat competing for your intestinal lining’s attention.
Gut L-Glutamine is neutral-tasting and odor-free, and it mixes easily, so it’s a quick and easy digestive health supplement for your busy morning routine.
How much should I take?
Start with 1 scoop in the morning. Each scoop provides 5 grams of L-Glutamine. If you want a second scoop, take it before dinner.
How many servings / days supply?
Each tub contains 60 servings. A serving size is 5 grams (1 scoop). If you take just one scoop per day, one tub of Gut L-Glutamine will last your 2 months. And of course, if you go for two scoops per day, then it will last 1 month.
How should I store this?
Gut L-Glutamine does not need to be refrigerated. Store it in a cool, dry place.
How long till I feel a noticeable difference?
Because everybody is unique, it’s impossible to say with absolute certainty how long it will take to experience a positive outcome. However, being water-soluble, L-Glutamine gets absorbed in your body rather quickly. You may notice a difference within just days or weeks.
Does it contain gluten, dairy or soy?
No. Plus, it is 3rd party verified gluten, dairy and soy free.
Can I take Gut L-Glutamine with other Essential Stacks products?
L-Glutamine is safe to take in conjunction with all our other digestive health supplements.
Can children take Gut L-Glutamine?
We like to err on the safe side when it comes to children. So please consult with your child’s healthcare provider to determine if L-Glutamine is okay for them and what the appropriate dose would be.
Can pregnant or nursing mothers take Gut L-Glutamine?
Since research involving expecting- and breastfeeding mothers taking L-Glutamine is lacking, we recommend you consult your physician before using this or any dietary supplement. Also worth noting, L-Glutamine has been assigned to pregnancy “category C” by the FDA, which means that it is not known what impact it might have on an unborn baby or whether it passes into breast milk.
Are any medical issues contraindicated?
If you have any medical issues, please consult your physician before using this or any dietary supplement. In particular, those with kidney disease, liver disease or Reye's syndrome (marked by serious swelling in the liver and brain) should avoid taking L-Glutamine supplements.
Can I take it with my medications?
If you are taking any medications, please consult your physician before using this or any dietary supplement. In particular, L-Glutamine may reduce the effectiveness of certain anti-epileptic medications used to treat seizures.
